Chip timing this year will be provided by New England Timing.
Velcro strap chip timing bands must be securely strapped to your leg just above either ankle. The chip/strap must be worn from the start of the swim/kayak through the run finish line. No chip...no time. Volunteers will collect your chip/strap at the end of the finish line chutes. Teams will transfer the chip (as if it's a relay baton) to their next teammate when transitioning between zones.
Wrap the ankle bracelet around your LEFT ANKLE before the start of the race (timing chips can be worn in the water and should be worn during the swim/kayak leg. If you are wearing a wetsuit, please strap your chip OUTSIDE of your suit for accuracy. Continue to wear it until you reach the collection point after crossing the Finish Line.
Racers will receive 5 timing splits: Water leg, transition zone 1, bike leg, transition zone 2, and run leg/finish.
IMPORTANT: The chip AND Velcro strap is a complete unit and is not a throw-away item, nor is it a race amenity that you can keep as a gift. It is an expensive item that must be turned in once you finish each race (or if you drop out of the race at any point). If you drop out of the race, return your equipment to the timing company or race volunteers at the finish line.
