Training for the Run LegThere are several places on the web to find information on run training. Make sure to gradually increase your distance and speed. Increasing too quickly can cause injuries. The run course is an open course to traffic. Make sure to pay attention and be aware. The course is marked very well with signage and cones.

Runity for Women (with Colchester Parks & Rec)
Whether you're new to distance running or recovering from an injury, the Runity program is a great place to start and hone your body to be ready to run. Runity is a training program designed to help you build up to distance running through total body fitness. You’ll be taught specific exercises which open tight shoulders and hips, and condition the foot, hip and core. This weekly class uses an interval training style with focus on alignment, ease, tempo and breath, and instructed in a way that will help you become a runner, but to also benefit any athletic activity. As the weather turns warmer, we'll plan to run outside at the new Village Park loop, and other locations TBD. Mary Grunvald is a physical therapist and trained Runity coach and Pilates instructor, has been a mentor for FirstStrides, and is an avid runner herself.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. This is a six-week class geared toward women ages 18 and over. Registration available online here or by sending a registration form to the the Colchester Parks & Recreation Office at 781 Blakely Road, Colchester, VT 05446.
