Volunteer opportunities include:
PACKET STUFFING (5 - 6 people)
This position will fill event packets with t-shirts, swim caps, information packets and sponsor goodies during the week leading up to the event (date & time TBD).
PACKET PICK-UP/REGISTRATION TABLE (4 - 5 people)
Check-in racers and help distribute packets based on bib number. May need to answer general race questions. Packet pick-up times are on Saturday evening (at the Bayside Activity Center, 2 West Lakeshore Drive) and Sunday morning (at the Colchester High School, 131 Laker Lane).
BODY MARKING (4 - 5 people)
All racers must be marked with their bib number on arms and calves. Volunteers will assist on Sunday morning at the High School Registration Table.
EMCEE (1 person)
This position needs to be someone who has a lot of personality and is not afraid to stand up in front of a crowd and speak into a microphone. Experience as an emcee, DJ, or radio personality is a plus!
TIMING (4 - 5 people)
Volunteers will assist event timers with distributing timing chips at registration and collect timing chips at the finish line. Volunteers may also be asked to relay information between race officials and timers or assist with back-up timing.
T-1 (SWIM-TO-BIKE) TRANSITION (12 - 15 people)
Volunteers will assist in handing out bike stakes, guiding athletes into the transition area, controlling the general flow of the transition zone, provide directional assistance and helping break down and pick-up once everyone has left T-1.
T-2 (BIKE-TO-RUN) TRANSITION (12 - 15 people)
Volunteers will assist in controlling the speed of bikers entering the transition zone, guiding athletes through the transition zone, supervising bikes left in the transition zone, and helping break down and pick up after everyone has left T-2.
RUN COURSE MARSHALS (3 people)
Volunteers will help to guide athletes along the run course and ensure their area is free of spectators when participants are present.

Volunteers will be placed wherever additional help is needed; this could include tasks not listed above, such as course safety, emcee assistant, and refreshments table.
